Sightseeing incl:
• National Museum of Turkmenistan
– museum has a large historical
section, which includes Bronse
Age, Antiquity and Middle age
sections and very interesting
golden exhibits.
• Carpet museum –
where is the second biggest
hand woven carpet of the world.
The biggest carpet of the world
is in one of the Niyazov’s
palaces.
P.M. Lunch. Continue sightseeing
tour :
• Nisa (III c) Parthiandates
capital inhabited till the 19c.
Grandiose architectural complex
consisting of ceremonial hall,
treasure house and residences.

2 : Ashgabad / Mary / Merv/

Drive to Mary (352 km - 5 hours).
Arrival and transfer to hotel
for accommodation.

Sightseeing to ancient city
Merv:
• Merv ‘pearl
of east’ one of oldest
inhabited cites Central Asia.
It was rebuilt over the centuries
spread more than 100 sq km.
Merv is site of no less than
five cities from different
periods, each built beside
last. Sultan Sanjar mausoleum
impresses with size &
solidity, Gayir Kala has an
area of 360 ha, har regular
planning, right contour of
walls and for gates one to
each part of the world.
• Mary regional museum
- features traditional Turkem
life and culture including
displays on weddings and carpet
weaving.
Back to Mary. Dinner &
o/n hotel.

3 : Mary / Margush / Mary /
Ashgabad ( 110 + air) |

Sightseeing to Margush :
• Huge historical-cultural
area, occupie0d the territory
by the middle stream of Murgab
river and oasis of Merv. The
first inhabitances appeared
here in Neolithic epoch. In
the beginning of II thousand
years at the North delta of
Murgab river the ancient agricultural
center with big settlements
enclosed by walls with towers
appeared. In the center of the
city is a fortified palace enclosed
by a great wall was built. The
unique architecture of this
construction has no corollary
& represents a singular
phenomenon in the history of
ancient Oriental architecture.

Back to Mary. Transfer to
airport for flight to Ashgabad
by T5-132 at 20 :40-21 :40.
Arrival and transfer to hotel
for accommodation.

4 : Ashgabad / Dashauz / Kunya
Urgench / Khiva (Air+315 km)

Transfer to airport for flight
Ashgabad-Dashauz by T5-101 at
06 :40 – 08 :00. Arrival
and drive to Kunya-Urgench for
sightseeing.
Sightseeing incl :
? Mausoleum of Fakhr At-Din
– Built in 12-13 centuries,
it is small, almost square erection
crowned with the 12 sided marquee.
? Sultan Tekesh Mausoleum –
1172-1200y. – mausoleum
presents semicubic erection,
crowned with the high conic
cupola.
? Turebek Khanum Mausolum –
Turebek Khanum wife of the Urgench
governor Kutlug Temur.
? Mausoleum of Najmitdin Kubra
and Sultan Ali
? Kutlug Timur Minaret –
60m in height the minaret was
buil in 1320-1330 by golden
horde khan Kutlug Temur.
P.M. Drive to Dashauz. Cross
Turkmen-Uzbek border «
Shavat».
Continue drive to Khiva. Arrival
and accommodation at hotel.
